The virtual China Investment Forum will address various topics around investment in China, presenting different options for foreign investors wishing to enter the Chinese market as well as specific banking services ICBC offers in this area.

Two rounds of simultaneous breakout sessions will tackle the topics of investment in China’s bond market, cross-border RMB utilization, investment in China’s equity market and market entry through M&A.

China's bond market, now the world's second largest, has expanded rapidly in the past decade and attracted more and more international investors. Ms. Liqun Dai and Ms. Miffy Yang will share policy highlights of investment in the Chinese interbank market, as well as insights into investment in China via the China Interbank Bond Market (CIBM Direct and Bond Connect) scheme.

Hongkai Li

Authorized Management Member, ICBC Zurich Branch

After earning a master degree in economics, Hongkai Li joined ICBC Head Office in 2006. He participated in the preparation of ICBC Zurich Branch in 2016 and has served as a member of management of the branch since 2021. He has more than 15 years of experiences in the banking sector, including 5 years of work experience outside of China. Hongkai Li has a deep understanding of China's financial market, as well as products and services that ICBC can provide.

Andreas Herzog

Vice President, Swiss-Chinese Chamber of Commerce

After graduating in Business Administration, Andreas R. Herzog continued his studies in marketing and finance management at business schools in France, Canada and the USA. He occupied management positions at Ciba-Geigy, Swatch, Swarovski and Eichhof. From 2002 to 2019 he was CFO and member of the Executive Board of Bühler. During his professional career he worked in Switzerland, Mexico, Colombia, Ivory Coast and Germany. He is now a member of the Board of Directors of SBB, Meyer Burger and HOCHDORF. Additionally he is investor and board member of a number of startup companies.

Jinny Yan

Managing Director, Chief China Economist, ICBC Standard Bank

Jinny joined ICBC Standard Bank in early 2016 as Chief China Economist, and leads the China markets strategy and research team. Her focus is to deliver China macroeconomic and market insights to internal and external stakeholders.

Prior to joining ICBCS, Jinny was a London-based Senior Economist at Standard Chartered Bank. She covered key China-Europe macro topics with a focus on Renminbi internationalisation. Heading up the European RMB Solutions team, Jinny chaired the Education and Marketing stream of the City of London’s Renminbi initiative.

Jinny studied Economics (BA Hons) at the University of Durham. Later in her career, she gained her Masters of Development Studies (MSc.) from the London School of Economics.

Liqun Dai

Manager, Agent Trading Team, ICBC Global Markets Department

Daisy and her team provide sales and agent trading as well as settlement services for overseas sovereign and commercial financial institutions from nearly 60 countries and regions in China’s interbank markets, where they provide whole-life-cycle and one-stop services for international clients on interest rate and currency products. Her team has been frequently awarded by CCDC, CFETS and other market intermediaries for its outstanding contribution to market opening-up and high quality services for overseas clients.

Miffy Yang

Executive Director Business Development, Custody Service Department, ICBC (Asia)

Miffy Yang serves as Executive Director Business Development, Custody Service Department of Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (Asia) Limited. Ms Yang has been responsible for Bond Connect marketing since 2017. Ms Yang has ten years of working experience in the financial industry. She is currently getting an MBA Degree at the University of Hong Kong. Ms Yang majored in Finance and Business Administration during her undergraduate studies.

Zhenyong Xing

Deputy Manager of Cross-Border RMB Administration Division, International Business Department, ICBC

Mr. Zhenyong Xing currently works as deputy manager of the cross-border RMB administration division in the International Business Department of the ICBC H.Q. The department promotes and organizes cross-border RMB utilization, including the communication with administrative bodies such as PBOC for cross-border RMB policy, product design and capital activities, as well as RMB utilization innovation. The aggregated cross-border RMB settlement volume accounts for 4,525.3 billion RMB (including equity market investment) and represents an increase of 72.96% YoY.

Dr. Nian Lin

Deputy General Manager of the Investment Department, ICBC Credit Suisse Asset Management

Mr. Nian Lin, a Ph.D. in Macroeconomics from Peking University, formerly worked in China Everbright Securities Co., Ltd. as a macroeconomics analyst. He joined ICBC Credit Suisse Asset Management Co., Ltd. in 2014, and served as the Deputy General Manager of the Research Department, Leader of the Macro Strategy Research Team, and now as the Deputy General Manager of the Investment Department (in charge) and Fund Manager.

Liqing Wen

Head Cross-Border M&A Team, Investment Business Department, ICBC Head Office

Liqing Wen currently acts as head of the cross-border M&A team in the Investment Business Department of the ICBC head office. He has more than ten years of working experience at ICBC, serving ICBC’s clients in cross-border business areas, and providing banking solutions and services on a global scale. ICBC carried out many outward as well as inward M&A deals in recently years and maintains a leading position in the Chinese market. By number of M&A deals, ICBC ranked first among all Chinese banks on Refinitiv’s lists of China Outbound Announced M&A for six consecutive years and China Inbound Announced M&A for the first time in 2020.

Xinhua Hu

Head of Treasury Department, ICBC Zurich Branch

Mr. Hu joined the preparatory team of ICBC Zurich Branch in 2017 and leads the Treasury and FI team. He is responsible for asset and liability management, trading, financing and investment for the Bank. He lead his team to provide the comprehensive proposals to help clients manage IR and FX risk as well. He also helps FI client to understand more about China’s Interbank Bond Market (CIBM) and invest RMB bonds in CIBM, as it opens further to foreign investor access.
Prior to joining ICBC Zurich Branch, Mr. Hu has been working in ICBC Head Office for over 10 years.
Mr. Hu studied Mathematics at Wuhan University. Later he gained his PhD from Shanghai Jiaotong University.

Gino Giuliato

Senior Advisor, ICBC Zurich Branch

Mr. Gino Giuliato has nearly 40 years of commercial banking experience and has worked for UBS, HSBC and other large financial institutions in public marketing and foreign institution management positions prior to taking up his position at ICBC.

Mr. Giuliato joined ICBC, Zurich Branch in 2019 as a senior advisor, and is mainly responsible for branch marketing strategy consulting, large customer marketing, financial interbank cooperation, among others.
