This will be followed by a presentation of Yaqi Liu from Wenfei Attorneys-at-law Ltd. on "Cost Saving Policies and Measures for Swiss Invested Entities in China after the COVID-19 Pandemic".


New Guiding Rules promulgated by the Chinese Supreme People’s Court regarding the Treatment of Civil Disputes in Relation to the COVID-19 Pandemic

The ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic has seriously affected busines operators worldwide. This is especially true for companies in China during the first half of 2020 when the country was basically subject to different levels of lockdown.

To address the civil disputes that has arisen during such particular times, the PRC Supreme People’s Court has promulgated 3 Guiding Rules which cover a wide range of topics such as foreign related cases, sales contract, lease contract, contract performance and termination, bankruptcy and labor disputes etc. These Guiding Rules are valid legal interpretations and will be followed by PRC state courts and arbitration institutions.

Cost Saving Policies and Measures for Swiss Invested Entities in China after the COVID-19 Pandemic

To alleviate the financial difficulties faced my many companies China as a direct result of the COVID-19 Pandemic, the PRC central government as well as the local governments have promulgated various cost and expense saving policies, including tax exemption, rent exemption and social security contribution reduction.
