Mr Qi is Executive Vice President of China Investment Corporation (CIC), which was founded on 29 September 2007 as China’s sovereignty fund with a registered capital of $200 billion. Mr Qi is also a high-profile economist and had worked 16 years for CSRC as a regulator.

QI Bin
Mr. Qi Bin is Executive Vice President of CIC. Immediately prior to this, he had 16 years’ experience as a regulator and held several positions with the China Securities Regulatory Commission (中国证监会), including Director General of the Department of International Affairs (国际合作部主任), Director General of the Department of Innovative Business Supervision (创新业务监管部主任), Director General of the Research Center (研究中心主任) and Executive President of the Beijing Institute of Securities and Futures (北京证券期货研究院执行院长), Deputy Director General of the Department of Fund Supervision (基金监管部副主任), and Member of the Strategy and Development Committee (战略发展委委员).
Mr. Qi, born in 1968, holds a Ph.D. in economics from Tsinghua University and an MBA from University of Chicago.
